A show insider says Idol is determine to make this happen. The source says:

Duh! Ratings for a Rihanna / Breezy reunion would be INSANE!!
The "pals" haven't been seen together since in public (intentionally) since Chris was arrested for assaulting her in 2009. Obviously, millions would tune in to see the duo, but it'd also bring the show lots of harsh criticism.
All the people that object to their latest projects together will be horrified by a prime time reunion.
